With many decades combined experience in care of homeless and hurting people, our staff are on the cutting edge of creating solutions to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.
Paul & Margie Olsen (Co-Founders and Directors Emeritus)
In 1977, Paul and Margie founded the Mission with a ten dollar donation and a prayer. For over 40 years, they have served countless men, women and children in addition to many years of volunteer service in the field of Rescue work. Their greatest desire is to see the individual’s lives transformed by the peace and love of God.
Paul and Margie have retired but are still very much involved at the mission. They both teach Bible Application classes and Margie teaches a personal finance course, as well as a course on emotional health.
Ben Olsen (Executive Director)
Ben joined the staff in October of 2008. He spent his college years in Greenville, SC at Holmes Bible College and in Nashville, TN at Welch College. Ben also worked at the Nashville Rescue Mission while in Nashville. He credits his time in Nashville to the development of a passion to see lives transformed by the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Ben has been working in gospel missions for over over 12 years professionally and has many years of volunteer experience in addition. His vision is to cultivate a place where people can get on the right track in life, no matter what is taking them off track. Ben believes Christ is the key to life change, and it is his prayer that God uses him through the work of Rescue to lead people to a changed life. Email Ben
Boris Wiggins (Director of Men’s Services)
Boris Wiggins is a native of North Carolina, and grew up in Raleigh. He is the Founder and President of His Image Ministries International, a ministry to men and couples. He also serves as a Community Chaplain through Corporate Chaplains of America.
Boris is very passionate about helping men discover the biblical principles of authentic manhood, which provides men with an encouraging process that teaches them how to live lives modeled after Jesus Christ and directed by the Word of God.
Boris’s heart is to see every man abide in our heavenly Father’s presence, love, and power! His life’s callings are to encourage every person that he encounters, and to make sure that every man is living personal revival every day!
Tiffany Olsen (Stewardship and Development)
Tiffany has been volunteering with the mission since 2010, and came on staff in November of 2014 to help oversee the marketing (mail campaigns, social media, etc.) and development (fundraising, community relationships). Her passion is to help the people who are helping others by working in the background on the nuts and bolts of the mission’s operations.
Debbie (Operations Manager)
Having gone through many trials and struggles herself, Debbie is well equipped to empathize with our clients. Her goal is to allow God to use her as a vessel in the daily process of restoring dignity and peace into the lives of the women and children who come to the mission seeking help. She feels blessed to work with our clients. Email Debbie
Bennett (Bennie) came on staff in August 2017. Bennie is unique, in that not only is he on staff, but he was a client 3 years ago! Bennie was a substance abuse counselor for some years, but that wasn’t enough to keep him on the right track.
