An Invitation to Give More Hope in Our Community

Since the Smithfield Rescue Mission opened it’s doors nearly 40 years ago, the population of Johnston County has almost tripled.

gmh_povertystats-01The newest estimates show more than 15% of people in Johnston County live in poverty. In Smithfield, that number climbs to more than 25%.

What if you could help them? What if you could be a part in ending poverty and homelessness for people in “your own backyard”? You can do that by giving to the Smithfield Rescue Mission!

These numbers, and the faces of people in need they represent, are why we are launching Give More Hope, to expand our services, and improve our facilities.

We want to open our doors to more people in need, provide more comprehensive services, and make upgrades to our facilities.

It’s not hard to see that poverty is something affecting people in our community. It’s harder to see how we can help. But with the help of friends like you, the Smithfield Rescue Mission has been doing just that for almost 40 years.

We have been providing food, clothing, necessities, and shelter along with a life changing long term program to break the cycle of poverty in the lives of people from all over Eastern NC. Those we help come from many different parts of our area for these life changing opportunities. We want to make sure we can continue providing these services for many years to come, and we are inviting you to help us give more hope to more people in Johnston County and eastern North Carolina and change more lives!

gnh01There are several ways you can help with these projects and items needed. Click here to see a list of things that will help us open our doors to more people, and make an even bigger impact on homelessness in Johnston County and Eastern North Carolina.

Every single gift, no matter the size, is used to show Christ-like compassion to those in
need.

We do not take it lightly when we ask you to give above and beyond the gifts you’ve already given to the mission through the years, but we are asking you to prayerfully consider doing just that, and help us Give More Hope to more people than ever before- and if you’ve never given to the Smithfield Rescue Mission, please give today by clicking here. You’ll change lives!
